Weapons, Abilities, and PvP Updates
Mid Season Patch
- March 5th
- Sets up April's Destiny 2: Into the Light
- Also includes Crucible changes for new PvP landscape
Mid Season Ability Changes
Threaded Specter
- Ensnaring Slam ability regeneration penalty reduced by 50% in PVE
- Threaded Specter now receives the same regeneration penalty as Ensnaring Slam when activated
- Detonation damage in PVE increased by 25%
Threadlings
- Increased aim assist shape from .41m to .5m, making them easier to target
- Threading damage in PVP reduced from 40 to 35 (45 to 38.5 with Thread of Evolution)
- Groups of threadlings should now chain detonate more reliably
- Threadling animation when destroyed now plays correctly
Arcane Needle
- Aim assist cone increased by 50%
- Aim assist falloff increased form 30m to 45m
- Tracking velocity increased by about 5%
- Increased length of shape used in tracking target
- Fixed an issue where melee pose could freeze on uncharged melees
Restoration and Radiant
- Fixed an issue where abilities that reset these buffs to max duration were incorrectly resetting to initial timer instead
- Ember of Mercy now grants 2s of additional Restoration on Firesprite pick ups (3s with Ember of Solace
- Ember of Empyrean now maxs out at 15s instead of 12s, with each kill adding up to 1-4s depending on enemy type
Consecration
- Initial travel distance increased from 18m to 20m
- Height of slam detonation increased by 1m
- Slam detonation travel distance increased from 16m to 20m
- Slam detonation travel speed increased form 16m/s to 24m/s
Gunpowder Gamble
- Maximum self damage reduced from 144 to 80
Mid Season Weapons Changes
Heavy Burst Hand Cannons
- Fixed a bug caused MnK players to experience 25% less aim assist when firing from the hip or from airborne
Bows
- Reduced auto aim falloff by 15%
- Max auto aim cone size reduced by 5%
ARs
- Added missing perk, Target Lock, to Breaknecks 2nd column
Lightweight Scouts
- Increased base damage by 5% (3c1b)
Snipers
- Reduced auto aim cone size by 10%
Rockets
- Precision frame reserve ammo increased by 2, and damage penalty reduced from 10% to 5%
- High Impact frame reserve ammo increased by 2, and now has more detonation damage and less impact damage (same total damage)
- These changes apply to Deathbringer, Gally, and Truth
Heavy GLs
- Reserve ammo now ranges from 6 to 10 (depending on frame/perks)
- Spike Grenade impact damage reduced from 50% to 12.5%
- Direct impact damage for all launchers increased by 10%
- Increased detonation damage by 5%
Wave Frames
- Increased damage by 20%
- Increased wave width by 40%
Vigilance Wing
- Now has deterministic recoil pattern
Vex
- Increased ADS falloff scalar from 1.5x to 1.7x
Wish Ender
- True sight now lasts for 3s and immediately cancels when leaving ADS
Edge of Action
- Increased bubble DR by 85% in PVE (15% for bosses)
Manticore
- To prevent accidental activation, players must now be in air .5s and shoot a bullet to activate perk
- Special reload animation and weapon swapping can now be used to disengage thrusters
- While perk is active, enemies are less accurate (similar to Always on Time Sparrow)
- Catalyst now provides a void over shield, and returns ammo to mag, on airborne kills and sustained damage
Ex Diris
- Increased impact damage in PVE by 50%
- Rate of fire increased by 17%
Weapon Perks
- Heal Clip now grants Cure x2 to player (x1 for allies)
- Trench Barrel can now be activated using ranged melee attacks
- Loose Change now gets +20 aim assist, 20% ADS reduction, and +50 reload stat from 3.0 debuffs
- Dual Loader no longer has reload penalty
- Tex Balanced Stock now grants +20 range and +1.5 degree hip fire precision in addition to other effects
- Hakke Breach Armaments, Deconstruct, and Sundering now work against void souls, strand clones, cabal shields, and Brigs
- Hakke Breach Armaments damage vs crystals reduced from 85% to 60%
- Sundering can now activate on shield break, in addition to final blows on vehicles and constructs
- Hatchling now triggers specifically on a single precision kill or 3 non-precision kills
- Target Lock now activates for SMGs at 20% of magazine used, up from 12.5%
- Envious Assassin now capped at 100% of mag rather than 150%, with max mag size being 3x rather than 4x
- Bait and Switch reduced from 35% to 30%
- One-Two Punch now properly deactivates after a powered melee
- Deconstruct text updated to show that ammo comes from thin air, not reserves
Mods
- Mini-bosses now trigger on Boss spec, not Major spec
Future
- Final Shape bringing more PVE buffs and nerfs
- Also bringing weapon mod changes and more exotic changes
- Weapon enhancement expansion
Mid Season Crucible Updates
Health & Abilities
- Player health being increased from 70 to 100
- Ability cooldowns now have 15% penalty in PVP
- Super cooldowns now have 20% penalty in PVP
- Super damage increased by 31%
- Base melee damage increased by 16%
- Arc Flux Grenade damage increased by 16%
Primary Weapons
- Pulse, AR, Sidearm, and Scout crit damage increased by 14%
- Hand Cannon crit damage increased by 10%, body damage decreased as 5%, and flinch dealt decreased by 12.5% (10% for explosive payload)
- SMG crit damage increased by 12.5%, body decreased by 3%
- Bow base damage decreased by 15%
Special Ammo Acquisition
- Every game, players will start with 2 kills worth of special
- Earn points through kills and OBJ, with 100 points granting 2 kills worth of special
- Special and heavy kills do not reward points
- Self destructing will subtract points
- Ammo not dropped on death
- Special ammo will stay with you on revive/respawn/new rounds
- Swapping from double primary to using a special weapon resets the progress bar
Special Weapons
- Trace, Shotty, and Fusion damage increased by 20%
- Glaive projectile damage increased by 20%, and melee damage increased by 16%
Heavy Weapons
- Heavy GL detonation damage decreased by 5%
- Machine Gun damage increased by 20%
Exotics
- Fighting Lion PVP damage decreased by 20%
- Devil's Ruin charge beam PVP damage reduced by 15%
- Crimson flinch dealt decreased by 17.5%
- Forerunner PVP damage increased by 20%
- Symmetry Revolution PVP damage increased by 16%
