Showcase Recap
The Final Shape Campaign
- Inside the portal is the Traveler's Pale Heart (new zone)
- Witness is trying to fuse the light and darkness to freeze the universe into perfection
- Pale Heart seems like a trippy combination of past locations and your memories twisted by the traveler
- One of those destinations in the Pale Heart is the old tower, but in a last of us post apocalyptic style
- As you get closer to the Witness's monolith, the terrain gets more dissected/ominous looking
- New Tormentor type enemy called Subjugators
- Campaign reunites the vanguard team
- Pale Heart is linear at first, and expands out after Campaign
- Could give it a bit more of a dreaming city like experience, hopefully
- Raid is the final "Mission" of the campaign story wise: witness confirmed as boss
- Cayde-6 is back of course
- He "needed" to come back for the story to support the Pale Heart's function supposedly
Supers and Aspects
- Warlock solar super is a callback to Radiant warlock in D1 (FPS super) w/ powered up grenades and melees
- Will not include self rez
- Gives scorch to solar weapons for you and nearby allies
- New aspect has a solar buddy
- Titan has a void ranged burst super
- Tosses 3 axes that suck in enemies and blows them up
- Teammates and Titan can grab axes after thrown
- New aspect allows you to consume grenade to do a mini kamama blast
- Hunter arc super tosses a knife and slams into where it lands (3 total knives)
- New aspect creates a in-the-air whirlwind teleport thing with the arc staff as well
Weapons
- Tessellation is an exotic pyramid fusion rifle that can run any element including strand and stasis in the energy slot
- Tessellation can load your grenade into it to create a super projectile
- Tessellation confirmed as preorder bonus
- There is a golden gun like sniper and a traveler based exotic as well
- Khovostov, dragons breath, and red death returning!!!
- Red Death is a solar weapon and is the season pass weapon
- Rocket pistol side arm is a new archetype for sidearms
- There is a new support frame auto rifle that switches from firing bullets to firing healing bullets
Random
- Strange Coins (earned through ritual playlists) returning to bring back "excitement" to Xur
- HUD being rebuilt to make status effects more readable
Season of the Witch
- Eris Mourn focused, w/ lucent hive
- Immaru will help us revive Savathun if we defeat Xivu
- Savathun's Spire is the new 3 player activity
- Additional 3 player activity, with tier elements like Blinding Well & Court of Oryx
- We wield hive magic to assault Savathun's Spire to tithe to Hive God Eris
- New card activity that allows build crafting through deck building
- The cards can be used to make a deck for use in both activities
- New Vex network PvP map
Crota's End Reprised Raid
- Glowing armor from the Ages of Triumph raid confirmed!!!!!
- Nothing brand new shown, but Bungie is dialing up difficulty to test limits for Final Shape raid
Power Adjustments
- Simplifying power structure
- Certain activities will be power fixed, with difficulty tiers
- Nightfalls and Raids will still use power levels
- Fireteam power is a new system that will adjust everyones power to 5 below highest level player
- Makes activities less gate keepy
- Trials will also remain power enabled, Bungie might test Fireteam Power on it
Fireteam Finder Additions
- Coming season 23
- Lots of ways to say "don't be a d*ck" in your LFG posts
- There will be LFG lobbies to chat in while you wait for cues to fill up
- Guided Games ending
New Light Story Catch Up
- Timeline reflections is a collection of missions to summarize the story so far
- They are curated and summarize different key events in Destiny
Post Final Shape "Seasons"
- Episodes are the new story structure after Final Shape
- There are 3 next year: Echoes, Revenant, and Heresy
- This replaces the 4 season structure
- Each one will have 3 Acts with unique story missions and activities
- Story wise, they are less connected to the order you play each episode
- Act 1 having 100 rank season pass, and Acts 2 & 3 adding 50 additional ranks each
- They are adding more rewards to the track, and more unique rewards from level 100 to 200
- Act 1 will have an Artifact, Act 2 & 3 will add mods to that same Artifact
