This week at Bungie, we have some community announcements and a bunch of in-game changes to talk about.
Destination Material Changes
Planetary Materials You Can't Obtain in S19
- Dusklight Shards
- Microphasic Datalattice
- Helium Filaments
- Baryon Boughs
- Spinmetal Leaves
- Glacial Starwort
Simpler Economy
- Goal is to reduce some currencies both functionally and for space reasons
- These materials were an early economy that Destiny has outgrown
- Players will not lose these materials
- They can be spent at Rahool for glimmer, but he will never sell them again
- Rahool will now exchange 5,000 Glimmer for a stack of 20 destination materials
- 250 er material once below a 20 stack
- Side note: Rahool will also take Dark Fragments, Phantasmal Fragments, and Herealways Pieces for glimmer, even though these are sticking around
New Glimmer Sources
- Since these materials are going away, Bungie will add new ways to get glimmer
- Public events will give a base of 3300-4645 glimmer, and 10K-12.5K glimmer for heroic events
Other Changes
- Any other things that required planetary materials will now either have that cost removed or replaced with something like legendary shards
- The three Materialism ghost mods will be removed
- Bountiful Harvest ghost mod will now increase glimmer from resource nodes
- Resource nodes that gave planetary materials are remaining, but will instead give glimmer, xp, and reputation (for throne world and future destinations)
Vendor Updates for Year 1 Destination Vendors
- Devrim and Failsafe no longer take materials to rank up
- No rank requirements needed now for vendor armor
- Additionally rank-only cosmetics from each of these vendors are now purchasable directly
- These vendors will now have 4 daily bounties instead of 3
- Lastly, sunset weapons are being removed from sale for these vendors
Mid Season Weapon Tuning
ARs
- Increased stability effects on the high end by 20%
- Precision Frames crit multiplier raised to 1.55x (i.e. from 30 to 31 damage)
Bows
- Increased stow duration before handling from .4s to .2s for lightweights, .433 to .2s for precision
- After handling stat .45s to .3s and .48s to .33 respectively
- This moves swap speeds closer to other primaries
Pulse
- Increased effects of handling by 5% at the high end
- Reduced effects of handling by 2% at the low end
- Range stat damage falloff scalar changed from 16m to 15m at 0 range, and unchanged at 100 range
- Adapatives precision damage increased from 30.4 to 31.4 (can two burst a 4 resil guardian in .6s)
- Piece of Mind zoom lowered from 19 to 18
Scouts
- High Impact buff from last season over did it
- Reducing crit from 42 to 40, body from 73.5 to 70
Sidearms
- Increased auto aim fall off distance by 30%, which should mitigate the need for rangefinder to be viable
SMGs
- Reduced damage fall off end from 24m to 23m (note: these numbers are for hipfire and don't take into account ADS)
- Precision Frame damage increased from 16 to 17 body, and 22.4-23.8 crit
- Shayura's Wrath and Friction Fire zoom reduced from 16 to 15
- Lightweight Frames damage reduced from 11 to 10.85 body, 18.2 to 17.9 crit
Fusions
- Precision Frame intrinsic effect on recoil direction reduced by 50%
Glaives
- Glaive damage resist vs players lowered from 75 to 50%
- Damage resist remains the same against supers and PVE enemies
Snipers
- Increased settle time after flinch by 60%
- Reduced flinch received in PVE
- Sneak peak: Similar change coming to Linear Fusions in S19
Trace Rifles
- Increased the effect of stability by 10% on the low end, and 25% on the high end
Rockets
- Increased blast radius by .4m
Gunshot Straight
- Removed audio from activation
Rangefinder
- Removed the aim assist bonus
Jade Rabbit
- Reduced aim assist by 20
Lord of Wolves
- Reduced ADS accuracy penalty from 10x to 3x.
- Removed the 25% base damage buff
- Added a 40% PvE damage buff
- Removed the 50% crit multiplier penalty
- Added full auto as an intrinsic perk
No Time To Explain
- Reduced recoil direction from 90 to 73
- Reduced aim assist from 45 to 40
Riskrunner
- Reduced PVP damage of Arc Superconductor from 50% to 15%
Additional Future Gun Changes
- Special Ammo Linear Fusions will get an auto aim reduction and flinch tuning
- Machine Guns will get a PVP and PVE buffs
- Remove damage penalty to Dead Man's Tale at five stacks of Cranial Spike
