Rift
General
- Rift is an objective based, rugby inspired game type
- Spark (ball) appears in middle, goal is to grab it and dunk it in the opposing team's Rift
- First to 5 (or highest score by 10 minute mark) wins
- Spark holder can use weapons and abilities, but no super
- Enemy carrier appears on map for first few seconds after picking up spark
- Drops on body when carrier dies
- Spark blows up if you hold too long
- You can revive teammates
- No points for kills so help your team out
- The Hunt now takes place when your team has the spark, which will trigger the IB origin trait
Overtime
- If carrier could tie or win the game by dunking, game continues till they score or drop the spark
- If game is tied at the end, 3 sparks appear in the middle and sudden death begins
- If sudden death timer expires, sparks then disappear on drop, ending the game on a tie if all 3 sparks dissappear
New Crucible Map
- Designed for Spark
- Largest map yet
- 3 different size combat lanes
- Called Disjunction
- Symmetrical
- Takes place in the Black Pyramid swamps of the Throne World
- Available for all modes
Zone Control
- Zone Control returning
- Basically Control, but points earned for controlling zones every 15 seconds, rather than being kill based
- Timer is shown on each waypoint for when the zone will score next
- Zone capping is adjusted to 22.5 seconds for solo, 7.5 seconds for a full stack
- Dramatic music plays when all 3 zones controlled
- Zone Control available via Crucible Labs node
- Not active when Iron Banner present
Other Crucible Tweaks
- Control reverting to D1 scoring where team gains 1 point per person capturing when a zone is captured
- Elimination timer lowered to 90 seconds to match Trials
- For Mayhem: Super kills increased to 3 points, increased winning score to 200, and descreased time limit to 7 minutes
- Increased Rumble timer to 10 minutes
- Increased Showdown win condition to 15
Gambit
- Base reputation increased from 50 to 75 per match
- Streak value increased to 20 per match
- Raises max earnings to 250 per match for higher ranks
- Should increase reputation bar completion by 25%
Ritual Streaks
- Streaks for all 4 activities (Crucible/Gambit/strikes/Dares) are now tracked independently
- Running a match of 1 activity, now subtracts 1 game streak from the other 3 activities without completely erasing them
- Example: You have a 5 game Crucible streak. After running a Gambit match, you now have a 4 game Crucible streak and a 1 game Gambit streak
Grandmaster Rejoin
- In season 17, if you get kicked out of a GM by an error code, you will now auto rejoin upon login
- This allows you to rejoin, but keeps you in a state where you cannot swap loadouts via the game or 3rd party systems
Eververse/Season Pass (S17)
- Bright dust remaining the same for bounties and challenges
- Rank purchases available starting week 3
- Adding a one time rank package for buying 10 ranks
- If you haven't bought the season yet, there will be a bundle for the Pass, 10 ranks, and 2000 silver
- If you have bought it, you can get a bundle with 10 ranks and 1000 silver instead
Bungie Promotional Email Issues
- Personal emails failing mostly for those who unsubscribed at one point and then tried resubscribing
- To attempt to fix: In your Bungie.net Account Settings, under the Email and SMS section, uncheck the first box and hit Save Settings.
- Immediately after saving, check the first box, save, and verify.
- Worst case, this gives Bungie more data on who specifically is affected
